COERR Promote Refugee Self-Reliance through Livelihood and Income Generation Activities

During February – June 2014, COERR Kanchanaburi promote refugee self-reliance through livelihood and income generation activities in Ban Tham Hin camp, Ratchaburi Province.

COERR agriculture officer hold the meetings among interested refugees, youth and vulnerable groups in February; provided training on project planning and formulation as well as knowledge about animal raising technique, bookkeeping and data recording in March; distributed 3,500 fish to 2 groups of 11 refugee members, 2,000 frogs to 2 groups of 10 members and 205 ducks to 6 groups of 136 members in April. Follow-up visits to the refugee groups were regularly made to observe their progress, share experience and solve problems. In June further training were provided to enhance the refugees’ capacity building and ensure the success of the refugee self-reliance program.
